‘Villa Cipreses’ is located in the Axarquia region which enjoys an exceptional micro-climate making it one of the mildest yet sunniest regions in Spain.
The Axarquia area is known for its rich Moorish history and charming whitewashed villages (pueblos blancos). The area boasts beaches, cliffs, valleys and mountains. As you wind your way higher into the mountains, you have the feeling you are travelling back to a gentler time.
The quaint village of Canillas de Aceituno is only 2.5 kms from the villa, complete with restaurants, bars, bakery, butcher, fish monger and small supermarket.
In Vélez-Málaga (20 min drive) you will find several large supermarkets carrying an international selection of food and drink as well as shopping malls. There is also a small hospital.
The beach, with its local cafes, beach clubs and 4 kilometre long boulevard, is about 30 minutes from the Villa.

Hike or climb in the nearby Sierra de Tejeda-Almijara y Alhama Nature reserve, take a leisurely stroll through the rolling valleys dotted with almond trees and olive groves, mountain bike on country roads, go fishing or play a round of golf at Baviera Golf (25 minute).
Shoppers will enjoy hunting for that something special at local markets and shops in the many white painted villages that dot the countryside or in the hyper modern shopping malls in Velez-Malaga and Malaga.
Gastronomes will be spoiled for choice as both sea and land provide ingredients for the most delicious traditional dishes.
Be it Malaga, Cordoba, Granada or Sevilla the opportunities to explore and enjoy what these beautiful, ancient cities have are endless. Roman, Arabic, Phoenician and Christian dynasties have all left their mark on the architecture, music, festivals and street life in Andalucia. In addition the smaller towns are bustling with local artisans happy to share their work with you. If you are lucky you may be in time to join in one of the fairs or festivals each village and town celebrates once a year.
